My Hero Academia (Boku no Hīrō Akademia) is a Japanese manga written by Kōhei Horikoshi (Ōmagadoki Dōbutsuen, Barrage). My Hero Academia is licensed in English by Viz Media and Shonen Jump.

STORY: The story takes place in your normal seeming Japan until a giant lady crashes into a building. This is a world of superheroes, and quirks. Quirks are traits shown by an individual that is considered to be powers by sort, but in this world mostly everybody has one. Now we go to the main character of this story Izuku Midoriya that seems to be that one guy that doesn’t have a quirk, but that won’t stop him from trying to live out his dream of being a superhero.

Despite not having a quirk he manages to be the only one to stop a villain and ends upsaving his childhood friend, and this act of courage and heroism introduces him to his all-time favorite superhero All Might, and after seeing a little of himself in Midoriya, All Might decides to give Midoriya his quirk one for all, and this one act starts an adventure to greatness to attend superhero training high school.

REVIEW: This story is one to remember, it might have the same flow as some of the other mangas around but this brings a new spin to the meaning “started from the bottom”. It has different aspects it has it comedy, action, and it’s just fun to read.

One of the interesting things about this is the different types of quirks in this story; sweat that can combust, the appearances and attributes of a frog, a mix of fire, and many more. If you ever hear about stories that grab you by the neck and pulls you in this is one of them. At first you feel bad for Midoriya because he doesn’t have a quirk but when All Might tell him he can have his quirk and become a hero Midoriya didn’t know what to say, it wasn’t gonna be that easy to get it.

He had to do impossible tasks to build up his body because All Might told him if we don’t build up your body it will be like a glass cannon. But after a month or so, he ends up with more or less a stable structure to handle the power. But overall this is a good read, and I do recommend if you like your superhero, starting from scratch, worthless, but smart main character and a medley of different and hilarious cast of characters.
